Notes: Southern Wax Myrtle is a tough plant. Adaptable to a variety soils, tolerates dry and wet conditions, grows in full sun or part shade, and is really fast growing to at least 20' tall and 20' wide. Wax Myrtle can withstand severe pruning to minimize its dimensions but, we recommend giving it plenty of room to grow. Wax Myrtle can also be limbed up to expose multi-stemmed gray bark, quickly forming a beautiful small tree. Wax Myrtle is succeptible to limb breakage after Ice & snow BUT, because it is such a vigorous grower, recovers quickly once damaged wood is pruned back.
