Japanese Momi Fir is not a fast growing tree and you would not want to use it as a privacy screen if you need something quick. Momi fir is a wonderful specimen tree, though. One that should be gracing more Southern Gardens. Imagine! A healthy fir in zones 8 & 9!  It also is cold hardy down to zone 6.
